Not everyone becomes addicts bu choice but for many it is due to circumstances and stress with no one from family to support. Many people develop an addiction as a coping mechanism to deal with other traumas or other issues that stem from their everyday life. Motivational speech is a therapeutic technique used to address addiction and substance use disorders (SUD) in patients by strengthening one’s motivation and commitment to a particular goal, such as sobriety. When battling an addiction, one of the most difficult hurdles to overcome is a lack of motivation. Motivational thoughts helps people overcome their fears or uncertainty, fostering patients’ ambition to get sober and begin their journey to recovery. With this intention, RC Patalganga organised a Motivational speech therapy at AaiBabab Foundation - Integrated De-addiction centre near Chowk at Khalapur taluka. We had arranged an NRI Speaker working on development of Women and Human life. Her speech on importance of life and the after effects of addiction towards family and society motivated all. We also arranged entertainment program for them. They enjoyed the songs and danced on songs Later some of the addicts showcased their talent on singing and playing instruments like flute & guitar. We spent the whole day with them also had lunch with them showcasing our acceptance as they are and encouraged them to live a normal life after their treatment. We truly felt satisfied as we brought SMILE on the faces of all. Overall it was a very satisfying experience.
