Beach cleaning is vital for our environment. It helps protect marine life from harmful trash. Litter can hurt or kill sea creatures. Beach cleaning is not merely a community service; it is a critical environmental initiative. Beaches are vital ecosystems that support a diverse range of flora and fauna. However, they are increasingly subjected to pollution, mainly due to human activities. Trash and debris on beaches significantly affect marine life. Animals often mistake plastic for food, leading to ingestion and entanglement. This has a devastating effect on their health and survival. Additionally, polluted beaches pose a threat to human health and safety, and negatively impact tourism, a crucial economic driver for many coastal communities. Presidents & AG’s of Zone -1 came up with a unique idea of cleanliness drive at Alibaug beach who had gathered to attend CRM @ Alibaug organised by District CRM team. Rotarians from various clubs joined together and carried out Cleanliness Drive on Alibaug Beach for 1 hour.
